Father Son Holy Gore - Mayans M.C. Season 5 - Lincoln Potter and EZ ReyesEZ, Sofia, Angel, and a scattered few people are in church for Felipe’s funeral. Some of the Mayans are there to pay their respects. The brothers stand together next to their father’s casket, as Angel holds little Maverick, and EZ seems to look long at the crucifix like he’s asking Christ why this happened. Or perhaps EZ’s wondering if his sins will be forgiven. It all traces back to the moves EZ’s been making, quite recklessly, and the fallout that has come from them. In this final episode of Mayans M.C. we’re going to witness exactly how awful the repercussions of EZ’s actions will be because you know none of this is going to end well.
At the funeral, Miguel shows up to pay his respects, as well. Yet he’s not welcomed by EZ in the slightest, so he shows himself out. Angel pays attention to a photograph poking out from some things Galindo has in his hands, though nothing comes of it. After the funeral’s over, EZ gets a nasty surprise: a visit from Lincoln Potter. This isn’t a happy reunion, even if it didn’t happen on the day of Felipe’s funeral. Lincoln riffs on a “birdsong” from a bird flying above them before getting to any kind of point. “We are each meaningless,” he says. He sees everybody as a story among so many others in the world. He rambles on about the perceived importance of individual actions. He says that, eventually, most everyone’s forgotten. He suggests the end’s coming for EZ without saying as much, telling EZ “the birds will still sing” when the latter dies.

Terry’s girlfriend Jazmine is mourning the loss of her sister. She feels that she didn’t protect Jess when her little sister needed it most, even if Terry tries to tell her different. Over at the Mayans clubhouse, Bottles’s dog appears to subtly confirm to Sofia that she’s pregnant. There are much bigger things going on at the clubhouse, though. Terry’s there at gunpoint. He says if they tell him what happened to Jess, he’ll tell EZ what happened to Felipe. Oh, mercy.
There’s also Taza wanting to get back with the club. Tranq and Bishop are both great with it, obviously. But EZ says fuck him for leaving. He’s only focused on what’s ahead of him currently; he wants to “finish the war.” All his mind can see is battle. Outside the clubhouse are all kinds of Mayans and some Grim Bastards. They’re ready to follow EZ into the possible mouth of death. EZ says fearing death is smart: “War is an ugly business.” He also says that they don’t do what they do out of hate; they fight out of love for brotherhood and family. EZ calls anybody “wearing a Reaper” the enemy. He states that anyone who strips off the SOA cut can live. Otherwise they die.
Father Son Holy Gore - Mayans M.C. Season 5 - Katie Visits BishopEZ and the lads hit a venue where the Sons are rocking out to a bit of punk. They beat up everyone inside with bats. Angel then breaks up the party when he shoots a Reaper right in the skull. More bat beatings get handed out, and EZ puts a bullet between the eyes of another Reaper. EZ chases a fleeing Isaac into a nearby building where they fight a bit before he tosses the maniac down a flight of stairs and breaks his leg. Isaac tries to crawl away down the alley nearby. He begs EZ: “Im not ready for this to be over.” EZ proceeds to shoot Isaac in the face, then pisses on the man’s dead body.
That night, the Mayans toss a bunch of Reaper cuts on the fire while they party. Tranq and Gilly talk to Downer about Cielo. Apparently the bartender’s been texting people asking around about Jess. This means Cielo has to be taken care of, which lands on the shoulders of Downer. He doesn’t want to have to kill a woman, however, he’s low man on the totem pole compared to both Tranq and Gilly.

While there’s turmoil in the Mayans’ world, Alvarez and his wife Diana are welcoming a brand new life into the world. And that turmoil isn’t far from Miguel’s mind, either. Elsewhere, Devlin’s having a drank with a colleague who warns that Potter’s “definitely working on something.” She knows that Galindo is going to help them get Potter. She’s confident in it. She lists off all the different crimes they’ll be able to get Potter on, but her colleague mentions the war between the Sons and the Mayans. He says if Potter somehow “pulls a rabbit out of his ass” he’ll be “untouchable.” Yet Devlin sticks to her guns and sees Galindo as the way out of Potter’s mess.
Downer goes to Cielo’s home to confront her. He manages to get her into the car, though he forgets about the knife laying out in the open. He talks to Cielo and before he can say anything much she stabs him a bunch of times. Downer was about to haul out a ticket and cash for her to get away. Now he’s bleeding to death. Good lord.

When EZ’s leaving for the day he’s stopped by Sofia. She wants to talk with him later. She’s grinning and trying not to let out the secret that she’s pregnant. At the moment, EZ’s heading out to meet up with Angel. We also see Leti meet up with Louie. She’s looking for a gun so she can kill anybody in a Mayan cut. Louie doesn’t want to be connected to any of that. That doesn’t change the way Leti feels. She blames the Mayans for what happened to Coco, as well as Hope. She has nowhere else to direct her anger.
At the hospital, Bishop drops in to see Alvarez, and Alvarez is sitting with melancholy, wondering how long he’ll be around to see his boy grow up. Miguel doesn’t know if he’s “doing the right thing” by starting over beyond the club. Bishop thinks that Miguel is definitely doing what’s right; he’s equally as sure that he, himself, is not. Back at Bishop’s place he gets a visit from none other than Katie. She’s brought a message from Creeper. Is this the revelation that will undo everything?
Father Son Holy Gore - Mayans M.C. Season 5 - The Reyes BrothersEZ and Angel take a ride together. They pass by their father’s shop, now closed. Simultaneously, Emily sees the brothers ride by while she and Miguel are out together. The Reyes brother do a little racing. It’s the first time either of them have laughed in so long. They look happy, if only for a short moment. They then take a walk down the train tracks to a spot where EZ used to go think by himself. Angel laughs because he used to bring girls out there back in the day. A hilarious moment between brothers. Then they talk a lot more deeply. Angel says he wants to get away from all the hate and the violence. He doesn’t know where he wants to go, he just wants to live for Maverick. EZ says the only thing that kept him from suicide in prison was not being able to leave Angel. He sees this now as Angel deciding to leave him instead. Big brother can’t convince little brother that isn’t the case. That doesn’t mean that EZ’s going to stop Angel from going, though. Angel admires EZ for taking the Mayans to the top of the MC food chain: “You truly are the one king.” In worse news for the brothers, Katie was tipped off about someone with “a wild story” and she takes Potter to see Cielo. Shit’s about to get rougher for the club.

At the Galindo house, Emily arranges things so Luis is taking Cristobal to bed, without wearing his gun holsters, and Miguel comes back inside to Emily, gloves on, holding a gun on her husband. She shoots Miguel, then when Luis rushes down she shoots him, too, as she tells him she knows he killed her sister. She counts slowly, then begins to scream and play the part of the terrified wife discovering an awful scene at home. What a smart woman. Probably her only way out. A perfect placement of the cameras previously is what makes everything appear like a “murdersuicide” and the time Emily’s been spending with Luis also makes it seem like the bodyguard was taking an unhealthy interest in her. A neat package.
What does this do for Devlin? Kinda ruins things.

At the table, the meeting begins, even though nobody’s heard from Downer, obviously. EZ smiles at his brother, then thanks everybody at the table with him. He’s beaming with pride for all they’ve done together. He says he’ll never forget their loyalty and brotherhood. He’s indebted to them forever. After that’s said and done, EZ gives the table over to Angel, who talks about the club’s influence on his life. Angel says “being a brother” to the others has been the best part of his life. He says that, despite his pride, he doesn’t want Maverick to grow up and sit at that table, too. He wants to live, to raise his son. Tranq interrupts a moment and says they should patch Nestor in for what the latter did concerning Jess. EZ calls for a vote; everyone votes ‘yes’ unanimously. So they bring Nestor in and give him the news. Everyone embraces their newest brother, who happily embraces them back.
After Nestor’s patched in, Bishop and Gilly grab onto EZ, as well as Angel. The truth is out now about everything, including the fact EZ had Creeper killed. Bishop puts a gun right to Angel’s face and accuses Angel of being part of it. They task Angel with proving loyalty to the patch “over blood” by handing him a knife to kill EZ. Angel refuses to do it, but EZ says it’s okay. Little bro urges big bro to get it over with; there’s no other way out. EZ tells Angel to be strong, like when they were kids. He smiles at his older brother and tells him it’ll be fine. He pleads with Angel to tell Maverick about him. So with a gun to his head, Angel stabs EZ. The brothers hug in a fatal grip, as EZ mutters: “I love you, Angel.” Then Tranq stabs EZ. Then Bishop stabs EZ, too. Angel goes to his little brother, cradling EZ in his arms while the blood runs out of EZ and Gilly takes a stab, as well. The knife gets passed to Guero and Nestor, who also get to stab EZ. A veritable Julius Caesar moment, to which Bishop alludes: “Youre not the only one who reads Shakespeare, motherfucker.”
Father Son Holy Gore - Mayans M.C. Season 5 - EZ DiesBack at the trailer, Sofia’s waiting with a smile for EZ to walk in but she’s visited by Bottles and shot to death. Her and EZ’s dog is found later by Leti, who turns up probably looking for EZ, or any other Mayan. She takes the dog and heads out. Sad to see how many times women end up as collateral damage in the lives of the bikers, whether it’s the Sons or the Mayans. Sofia, and her foetus, are two casualties in the wake of EZ’s crimes against the club. Not sure why she had to die, except for the fact the Mayans didn’t want her asking questions once EZ was gone. Nasty stuff. But par for the course. None of the Mayans are good people, neither are any of the Sons. They all do terrible things.
EZ got off light, in a way. The feds come down hard on the Mayans clubhouse while everyone’s sitting at the table again. Everything Potter and Katie have together makes for a great case. But Potter, like EZ, is not a good man. He’s arguably even worse since he holds a position of great power. Gunfire inside the Mayans clubhouse goes off, so who knows how many, if any, will be left alive after this to carry on their club’s legacy. It was all for nothing. In the end, the outlaw biker life leads all these men to similar ends. Back at the Broken Saints compound, the women get another visit from Leti.

The last thing we see is Angel with his Mayans tattoo mostly blacked out. He’s standing by the seaside with Maverick in his arms. He’s living a different life. There is hope, at least, for him and his little boy. They survived.
