Get yourselves ready!
Auteur Nicolas Winding Refn (Pusher, Drive, The Neon Demon) has just dropped the full trailer for his neo-noir Amazon series Too Old to Die Young. The trailer features many of the Refn staples, from beautiful contrasted neon lighting to wild, choreographed violence, to the criminal underground’s terrifying reach, and more.
Refn directs each instalment of the 10-episode series, which he also co-wrote with comics writer Ed Brubaker, who’s written titles for Batman, Daredevil, Captain America, and whose work was the uncredited basis for 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
On top of Brubaker and Refn’s enormous talents, the series features an interesting cast including Miles Teller, Billy Baldwin, Jena Malone, John Hawkes, Augusto Aguilera, Nell Tiger Free, Callie Hernandez, Babs Olusanmokun, and more.
The series synopsis is as follows:
“A grieving police officer, along with the man who shot his partner, finds himself in an underworld filled with working-class hit men, Yakuza soldiers, cartel assassins sent from Mexico, Russian mafia captains and gangs of teen killers.”
Too Old to Die Young will premiere on Amazon Prime Video starting June 14th.
